Comelec targets 100,000 IP voters for BSKE

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has started a nationwide voter registration for the 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) from August 1 to August 10.

The poll body aims to register over 100,000 Indigenous Peoples (IPs) for the upcoming elections.

Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia visited IP communities in Mabalacat, Pampanga to encourage IP registration, noting that satellite sites near their residences are being utilized.

While 500,000 IP members registered for the 2025 May elections out of 68 million voters, the Comelec is setting up accessible registration sites to increase IP participation.

Registration is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at satellite sites or local Comelec offices, with the Register Anywhere Program available in Metro Manila.

The Comelec will accept new registrations, changes in name and status, corrections, reactivation, and other related applications, but will not allow transfers of local registration records during this period.
