Comelec finishes printing voter information sheets for May polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has finished printing 68,431,865 voter information sheets (VIS) for the May 12 midterm elections, which is equivalent to the total number of registered local voters.

Poll chief George Erwin Garcia confirmed the printing was completed by the National Printing Office in 47 days.

Each VIS contains the voter's name and address, instructions for casting ballots, and a list of national and local candidates.

The Comelec has begun distributing the VIS, initially in Regions 10, 11, 12, 13, and the Bangsamoro region.

Comelec-hired personnel will deliver the VIS door-to-door, even in far-flung areas, and voters are reminded to receive them directly from Comelec, not barangay officials.

The VIS can serve as a reference for voters to guide their choices and expedite voting on election day.
