COC filing relatively peaceful so far, PNP says
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported that the filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2025 national and local elections has been generally peaceful for three consecutive days.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia stated that there have been no reported incidents of violence, irregularity, or disturbance at any of the filing sites.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) also described the COC filing as "relatively peaceful" so far, with no reported disturbances or tension.
PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated that police personnel are continuing their deployment in Comelec offices and surrounding areas to maintain vigilance and maximum presence.
A total of 18,280 elective posts are available for the 2025 Eleksyon.
On October 3rd, nine party-list organizations and twelve senatorial aspirants submitted their documents, including reelectionist Senators Christopher Lawrence Go and Ronald Dela Rosa.
