Classes suspended in several PH regions due to quakes and flu surge

Classes are suspended on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in various areas across the Philippines due to recent earthquakes and a surge in influenza-like illnesses.

In Region III, the Schools Division of Bulacan has suspended face-to-face classes for elementary to secondary public schools from October 16-17 for building inspections.

Region IV-A sees widespread suspensions: Cavite suspends all levels in public and private schools from October 15-18, Laguna from October 15-31, and Rizal until October 17, after which classes will shift to modular distance learning.

Northern Mindanao's Gingoog, Misamis Oriental, suspended face-to-face classes in both public and private schools starting October 13 until further notice.

In the Davao Region, Davao Oriental public schools are suspended from October 11 until further notice, while Mabini, Davao de Oro, and Montevista, Davao de Oro, have suspended all levels in public and private schools starting October 13 and October 14, respectively.

The suspension in Montevista, Davao de Oro, also includes the work of all teachers and administrative personnel.
