Marcos Jr. welcomes PH Olympians at Malacañang

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed the Philippine delegation from the Paris Olympics at Malacañang Palace on August 13.

Gymnast Carlos Yulo was awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit for his historic multiple gold medal wins.

Olympic medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas are set to receive PHP2 million in incentives from the Office of the President and PAGCOR.

Foreign ambassadors in Manila, including those from Germany, Canada, and Japan, took to social media to celebrate the success of the Filipino Olympians.

The City of Manila will give Yulo his P2-million cash incentive on August 19, and Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan awarded pole vaulter EJ Obiena P500,000 on August 15.

The Philippine Airlines homecoming flight PR 8888 carried home the Olympic team, with athletes receiving various gifts and miles.

Carlos Yulo was honored as PAL's "Forever Flyer," receiving 150,000 Mabuhay Miles per year for life, while bronze medalists Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio were awarded 80,000 Mabuhay Miles annually for three years.

The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Martin Romualdez, also hosted a reception to honor the Filipino Olympians.

A heroes' parade for the Olympians took place in Manila, with around 1,500 supporters witnessing the event and over 300 police personnel ensuring security.

Around 25,000 supporters attended to see the Filipino Olympians at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC).
