CAAP raises alert level nationwide until Jan 4 amid holiday travel rush

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has raised its alert level nationwide until January 4, 2026, in anticipation of increased passenger traffic during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

CAAP expects about 1 million air passengers, projecting a seven percent rise from the previous year.

To ensure smooth operations, CAAP is collaborating with various agencies, including the PNP-Aviation Security Unit, Office of Transportation Security, Department of Tourism, Civil Aeronautics Board, and airlines.

CAAP has designated help desks at all airports to assist travelers with their concerns, and has also added security personnel and put more medical teams on standby.

CAAP Director General Raul Del Rosario stated that ensuring safe, orderly, and efficient airport operations is their top priority.
