BARMM-IATF hands over medical supplies to CRMC

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao-Inter-Agency Task Force (BARMM-IATF) has handed over the first set of medical supplies and equipment to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), a referral hospital for COVID-19 cases in Central Mindanao.

The initial supplies include misting tents, disposable and reusable Hazmat suits or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), surgical and N-95 masks, examination and surgical gloves, face shields, alcohol, and disinfectants.

BARMM-IATF spokesperson Asnin Pendatun stated that these supplies are a priority for identified referral hospitals, with further distributions planned for provincial hospitals in Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

CRMC chief of hospital Dr. Helen Yambao highlighted the critical need for these supplies, noting that their stocks were dwindling, especially PPE for healthcare workers attending to persons under investigation for COVID-19.

In a separate development, CRMC announced the discharge of COVID-19 positive Patient 145, a 32-year-old male from Lanao del Sur, who recovered after a two-week stay.

Patient 145, who had traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, tested positive on March 17, 2020.

The CRMC is currently monitoring 81 other possible COVID-19 cases.
