Army constructs emergency quarantine facility in Cebu

The Philippine Army's 53rd Engineer Brigade is constructing an emergency quarantine facility (EQF) at Camp Lapulapu in Cebu City.

The facility, which began construction on April 17, aims to serve as a triage and confinement area for probable COVID-19 cases within the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

This EQF is intended to decongest regular hospital wards and prevent the spread of the coronavirus within the Central Command, AFP.

The project is funded by San Miguel Corporation and designed by William Ti and Associates (WTA).

The lead consultant from the Department of Health (DOH-7) and architects from WTA inspected the ongoing construction and shared their expertise to improve the EQF.

The commander of the 53rd Engineer Brigade expressed his privilege in working with those who assisted in the construction.
