ES orders passport cancellation of Mayor Alice Guo, family

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin ordered the DFA and the Department of Justice to cancel the passports of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and her family due to national security concerns and her reported flight from the country.

The DFA has reported Guo's passport to the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime-Interpol for appropriate action and included her and her family in the passport watchlist database.

The DFA also informed the National Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Immigration that Guo may have misdeclared her identity and citizenship in her passport applications.

PAOCC spokesperson Winston John Casio stated that Guo illegally left the Philippines without government knowledge, entering Indonesia via Malaysia and Singapore.

Casio indicated that Guo's exit from the Philippines might have occurred through irregular points of departure such as the northern or western tips of Luzon, or a Mindanao backdoor exit.

Lawmakers are investigating Guo's escape and who assisted her, suspecting corruption within agencies like the Bureau of Immigration.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. acknowledged that an investigation into Guo's departure is ongoing and highlighted that her escape exposed corruption that undermines the justice system and public trust.

Graft charges, a tax evasion complaint from the BIR, and an ongoing election offense investigation from the COMELEC are filed against Guo.
