Shiela Guo confirms siblings left PH by boat amid ILBO

Shiela Guo confirmed to a Senate panel that she, along with siblings Alice and Wesley Guo, departed the Philippines by boat for Malaysia in the first week of July, a testimony that supports the Bureau of Immigration's (BI) suspicions of illegal departure.

Shiela stated that Alice wanted to leave the country because she was saddened by the Senate hearings.

The siblings' departure occurred despite a standing Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against them.

Shiela recounted their escape, which involved a van ride, a small white boat, a bigger fishing vessel, and finally a smaller boat to reach Malaysia, a trip she believed took three to four days.

Senator Risa Hontiveros noted that Shiela's passport was stamped with arrival in Sabah, Malaysia on July 19.

Shiela Guo has been repatriated to the Philippines following her arrest in Indonesia and is currently facing a deportation case for undesirability and misrepresentation, as she was found to possess a valid Chinese passport under the name Zhang Mier.

Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo and her brother Wesley Guo remain at large and are believed to be in Indonesia, and they may face similar cases upon repatriation.

The BI stated that Alice Guo and her siblings will be deported after they have been held accountable for their crimes and all other liabilities in the country are settled.

Senator Risa Hontiveros urged the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel Alice Guo's Philippine passport.

The NBI theorizes the siblings may have used a speedboat from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi to reach Malaysia, suggesting they bypassed public ports.
