Shiela Guo apprehended in Indonesia, faces deportation to PH

Philippine and Indonesian authorities apprehended Shiela Guo, sister of former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, and her companion Cassandra Li Ong in Batam, Indonesia, on August 20.

Shiela Guo faces deportation and misrepresentation cases in the Philippines for being an undesirable alien holding a Chinese passport valid until 2031 while presenting herself as Filipino.

Upon returning to the Philippines on August 22, Ong and Shiela Guo were arrested by immigration officers at NAIA and are now under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Alice Guo remains in Indonesia, with no attempts to leave the country, according to the Bureau of Immigration.

Authorities are investigating how Alice Guo allegedly exited the country despite an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, with possibilities of using private hangars, ports, or connections and money.

The House quad committee is interested in Cassandra Li Ong's testimony to identify individuals potentially behind illegal POGO activities.

Ong and Shiela Guo are expected to attend a Senate hearing on Tuesday regarding Alice Guo's alleged illegal exit.

Immigration authorities confirmed Shiela Guo illegally exited the Philippines as her passports did not undergo immigration checks and may have entered Sabah through informal entry points.
