6 mega quarantine centers built in a week for COVID-19 patients

Six "We Heal As One" Centers with a total of 1,500 beds were rapidly constructed in just one week across the National Capital Region and Clark, Pampanga to accommodate COVID-19 patients with mild or no symptoms.

These quarantine facilities, built through a joint effort between the national government and the private sector, include the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Stadium, PICC Forum Halls, World Trade Center, ASEAN Convention Center, and the National Government Administrative Center.

Each center is equipped with air-conditioned cubicles, plug-in outlets, free food, Internet connection, and is staffed by medical personnel providing round-the-clock assistance.

The initiative aims to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within communities and decongest hospitals to allow for more effective patient treatment.

Future quarantine facilities are planned for the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, PhilSports Arena in Pasay, and Filinvest Tent in Alabang, with the Philippine Arena capable of housing over 2,000 patients.

The facilities will be managed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Corps and the Philippine National Police Health Service, ensuring that frontline healthcare workers are provided with necessary equipment, supplies, and nearby accommodation.

Numerous private sector companies, including the Razon Group, EEI Corporation, Villar Group, and Ayala Group, partnered with the government to support the establishment of these vital health centers.
