348 OFWs repatriated from UAE

A total of 348 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been successfully repatriated from Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This marks the fourth batch of repatriations since travel restrictions were imposed on seven countries, including the UAE.

The OFWs arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) via Philippine Airlines on Sunday morning, following their departure from the UAE on Saturday.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) funded the chartered flight, with processing facilitated by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.

The repatriated individuals included 67 pregnant OFWs, 30 with medical conditions, and others who were staying in temporary shelters or had their flights canceled or overstayed.

The government plans to repatriate approximately 2,000 more OFWs and their families from the UAE.

Four additional repatriation flights are scheduled for July 12, 17, 27, and 30.
