Shear line, amihan to bring rains over PH on Friday

The Philippines will experience varied weather conditions on Friday due to the combined effects of the Northeast Monsoon, Shear Line, and easterlies.

Visayas, along with Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Dinagat Islands, can expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought by the Shear Line.

The Shear Line will bring moderate to heavy rains over Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.

The Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

The northeast monsoon will cause rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of the Bicol Region.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

The eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas will experience strong winds and rough coastal waters.
