Taiwanese national, cohort nabbed for kidnapping
Police arrested a Taiwanese national and his Filipino cohort for the kidnapping of a 41-year-old Chinese woman.
The victim was abducted on April 17 and freed in Parañaque City on April 20 after a P500,000 ransom was paid and transferred to a cryptocurrency account.
The suspects are now facing charges for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil stated that the PNP will take swift action against such crimes, regardless of the victim's nationality.
The suspects were apprehended in separate operations in Las Piñas City and Pasay City.
