PNP offers P5M reward for Chinese kidnap-murder suspect

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has offered a PHP5 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Wenli Gong, a Chinese national identified as a key suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Filipino-Chinese steel magnate Anson Que and his driver.

Gong, also known as Kelly Tan Lim, Bao Wenli, Axin, and Huang Yanling, allegedly negotiated ransom with Que's family using the victim's phone and acted as bait to lure Que and his driver to the location where they were killed.

The reward, which came from a concerned citizen, was announced by PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo.

Police have named five suspects so far, including those in custody: David Tan Liao, Richardo Austria, and Reymart Catequista, and those at large: Jonin Lin and Kelly (Gong).

Two other Chinese nationals in Boracay are being questioned for their possible connection with Gong.

Approximately P200 million in ransom was transferred in batches through casino junket operators in exchange for Que's freedom.
