PAGASA: Rainy weather, scattered rains, isolated storms across PH

PAGASA reported that three weather systems—the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), easterlies, and northeast monsoon—will continue to bring rainy conditions across various parts of the country on Monday, March 24.

Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected in Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, BARMM, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Romblon, and Palawan due to ITCZ and easterlies.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the northeast monsoon (amihan) and easterlies.

PAGASA warns of possible flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing severe thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall, especially in regions affected by ITCZ and easterlies.

The northeast monsoon affecting Northern Luzon will cause isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

Winds will be moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, whereas conditions will remain light to moderate in Mindanao.

The public is advised to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
