LPA near Surigao causes rain, thunderstorms in Visayas, Eastern Vis

A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) near Surigao del Sur and easterly winds continue to cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in parts of Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes, and isolated rain showers in Metro Manila.

Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Catanduanes may experience moderate to heavy rainfall leading to possible flash floods or landslides due to the LPA, which is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within 72 hours according to PAGASA’s forecast.

Metro Manila and other parts of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterly winds, with potential for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorms caused by the easterlies can result in flash floods or landslides in some areas according to PAGASA.

Light to moderate northeast winds are expected in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with slight to moderate coastal waters. Elsewhere in the country, light to moderate southeast winds will prevail with slight to moderate coastal waters.
