WHO: PH on track for COVID-19 vaccine rollout

The Philippines is on track with its preparation for the potential rollout of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to World Health Organization (WHO) officials.

Dr. Socorro Escalante, WHO Coordinator for Essential Medicines and Health Technologies, noted that the country has met four criteria set by the organization: national deployment plan, regulatory process, cold chain infrastructure, and safety monitoring.

Escalante highlighted that the Department of Health is in the final stages of developing a national vaccine deployment plan alongside Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and other sectors.
