LGUs allocate funds for COVID-19 vaccine procurement

Local governments in the Philippines are allocating funds to procure COVID-19 vaccines for their residents.

Quezon City has signed a tripartite agreement with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, DOH, and NTF to secure 750,000 doses of the vaccine, projected to arrive by July to September.

Gapan City has earmarked PHP150 million for vaccine procurement, while Valenzuela City and Pasig City have also allocated funds for their residents.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte confirmed that the city council approved the resolution allowing the purchase of vaccines, prioritizing vulnerable citizens.
