Sara thanks Marcos for P265M aid to LPA victims

Vice President Sara Duterte thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for assisting residents affected by a trough of low pressure area (LPA) in the Davao Region.

During a meeting with government agencies in Davao City on Wednesday, Marcos approved the release of P265 million to aid victims of flooding and landslides; on Thursday, Duterte expressed gratitude for this assistance.

Duterte called on Filipinos to remain resilient amid challenges and emphasized the importance of building a patriotic nation.

The death toll from landslides and floods in the region has risen to 27 with nearly 98,000 individuals or 25,477 families in evacuation centers and over 697,000 individuals displaced.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, over 1.19 million individuals have been affected by the LPA in Mindanao, with nearly 800,000 from the Davao Region.
