Cebu begins vaccine rollout on March 3

Cebu will begin its COVID-19 vaccination program on March 3, following Metro Manila's rollout.

The program will start with health workers at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, with 2,900 employees eligible for the Sinovac vaccine.

Some health workers are hesitant due to concerns about Sinovac’s efficacy rate, while others can wait for AstraZeneca vaccines arriving in mid-March.

The Visayas Vaccination Operations Center opened in Mandaue City on March 1 to serve as a centralized hub for the vaccination program.
