Barangay chief faces raps for false Covid-19 post

Barangay Chairman Ziffred Ancheta of Marikina City faces charges for violating the Anti-Cybercrime Law after posting false information on social media about a coronavirus case.

Ancheta's post caused panic among residents and was immediately refuted by the Marikina City Health Office and Rescue 161.

Mayor Marcelino Teodoro stated that Ancheta will be charged with Unlawful Means of Publication and Unlawful Utterances under Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to RA 10951.
