DOH: PH coronavirus cases rise to 217, recoveries now at 8

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 15 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 217 as of Thursday, March 19.

One additional patient recovered from the virus, increasing the total recoveries to eight.

Patient 20, a 48-year-old Filipino male from Cavite with travel history to Japan, was discharged after testing negative for Covid-19 twice.

The DOH also corrected an earlier report stating that Patient 57, who died on March 18, is from Bulacan and not Pasig City.
