Vegetable prices up P10-P20 in NCR after Karding

Prices of several vegetables in Metro Manila have increased by P10 to P20 per kilogram following the impact of Typhoon Karding.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is investigating price movements and will assess why prices are rising so significantly.

According to DA Undersecretary Kristine Evangelista, high-value crops such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, and spices were the second most damaged crop group after Karding, with a total value loss of P754.8 million and 18,536 metric tons destroyed across 2,964 hectares.
