Petro Gazz beats Choco Mucho 34-28 in PVL All-Filipino opener

Reigning MVP Brooke Van Sickle led Petro Gazz to a narrow victory over Choco Mucho with 34 points in the opening match of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday.

Van Sickle praised her fellow MVP Sisi Rondina, who contributed 18 points and showed grit and determination despite Choco Mucho's loss.

Petro Gazz overcame a second-set loss by mounting a strong comeback in the final two sets, particularly building a commanding 15-7 lead in the fourth set with back-to-back kills.

Jonah Sabete contributed significantly with 18 points and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas added another 18 points, while Remy Palma chipped in 10 points to secure Petro Gazz's victory.

Van Sickle acknowledged Choco Mucho's potential for a strong comeback later in the conference and expressed respect for Rondina's resilience.
