Valdez excited to face former coach Gorayeb in PVL All-Filipino Conference

Creamline star Alyssa Valdez expressed excitement about facing her former coach Roger Gorayeb for the first time since 2021 in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday.

Valdez, who scored five points in two sets played on Wednesday, praised Gorayeb's journey back to professional volleyball after coaching her at Ateneo and PLDT in 2015, noting his understanding of her playing tendencies despite Creamline's victory over Capital1 with scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-15.

The three-time PVL MVP was emotional about Gorayeb's return to the sport, expressing hope for Capital1's success and Gorayeb's continued growth in the volleyball community.

Valdez wished Gorayeb good health during their game, emphasizing her friendship with him despite being on opposite sides of the court.

Gorayeb, while facing his former players' victory, expressed happiness for their ongoing success and thanked them for looking out for his well-being during the match.

Creamline regained its winning ways following a recent loss to Chery Tiggo, with Valdez emphasizing the importance of moving forward from mistakes to improve as a team.
