UST Golden Tigresses advance to UAAP women's volleyball Final Four

The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses secured a spot in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball Final Four by defeating the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in three sets on Wednesday, April 23.

UST won with scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-18 at the Mall of Asia Arena, improving their record to 9-4 and reaching the Final Four for the fifth consecutive time.

Angge Poyos led UST with a game-high 19 points, while Em Banagua contributed significantly on defense with eight blocks and scored 12 points.

UST's victory ensured that La Salle also secured their spot in the playoffs, leaving UP out of contention despite Niña Ytang's double-digit performance with 16 points for the Maroons.

The decisive match saw UST take an early lead and maintain it throughout, particularly with key contributions from Poyos and Banagua in closing out sets.
