UST reaches men's volleyball finals for second straight year

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured their place in the UAAP men's volleyball finals for the second consecutive year by defeating Far Eastern University (FEU) with a two-game series sweep on Wednesday, May 8.

Josh Ybañez led UST with 19 points and crucial receptions, while GBoy De Vega and Sherwin Umandal contributed significantly to secure the victory in a tight match that lasted two hours and 23 minutes.

UST made history as the first team to reach the finals from the fourth seed in the UAAP men's volleyball tournament's Final Four era since 2004.

Head coach Odjie Mamon expressed his motivation for the upcoming championship round, aiming to give National University (NU) a strong challenge after losing to them last year.

UST will face NU in the finals starting Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum, with both teams set to compete for their respective titles following UST's women's volleyball team victory over De La Salle University.
