NU seeks third straight Finals berth vs FEU

National University (NU) aims to secure a finals berth when it faces Far Eastern University (FEU) in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Saturday, aiming for a third consecutive Finals appearance.

The Lady Bulldogs, who earned a twice-to-beat bonus after topping the eliminations with a 12-2 record, will play against FEU at 4 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and aim to avoid going the full two-game route.

Team captain Bella Belen emphasized that while the twice-to-beat advantage makes players feel better, it should not affect their performance and is just meant to provide support.

Coach Norman Miguel stated that National's game is rising at the right time, believing they have the strength to secure a spot in the championship series after Saturday’s clash with FEU.

FEU aims for its first Finals appearance since 2019 as they secured ninth wins with Congo's Faida Bakanke leading the way, while UST ended eliminations with an 11-3 record but settled for second place due to inferior points compared to NU.

In another match on Sunday, University of Santo Tomas (UST) will face De La Salle University in a crucial game at the Mall of Asia Arena.
