UST ends losing streak, beats UP 3-0 in UAAP men's volleyball

University of Santo Tomas (UST) ended its three-game losing streak by defeating University of the Philippines (UP) 25-23, 25-14, 25-16 in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Reigning MVP Josh Ybañez led UST with a game-high 21 points built on 18 kills, two blocks, and an ace, helping the team bounce back from consecutive losses.

UST assistant coach Benjamin Mape praised the players for their efforts in studying and improving their game strategy to regain confidence after losing three straight games.

Rainier Flor contributed nine attacks and two blocks for nine points, while Rey Miguel De Vega and Sherwin John Umandal each added eight points.

UST will face Adamson University at noon on Saturday, while UP will play against University of the East at noon on Sunday in their upcoming matches.
