Experts advise stricter quarantines for 11 high-risk COVID-19 areas

Researchers and experts from the Octa Research Group and the University of the Philippines recommend reverting 'high-risk' areas to stricter quarantine measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The Octa Research Group identified Batangas, Iloilo City, Cagayan, Isabela, Benguet (including Baguio), Davao Del Sur (including Davao City), Iloilo (including Iloilo City), Misamis Oriental (including Cagayan de Oro), Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Pangasinan (including Dagupan), Western Samar, and Zamboanga Del Sur (including Zamboanga City) as high-risk areas.

These regions are currently under general or modified GCQ but should be placed under stricter quarantine due to increasing numbers of new cases and limited hospital capacity.
