Unvaxxed in Manila only asked to go home, no arrests

Unvaccinated individuals in Metro Manila are generally complying with the directive to limit their movements to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año clarified that unvaccinated people who go out will only be asked by barangay officials to return home and will not face arrest if they comply.

Checkpoints have been set up in Metro Manila to restrict the mobility of unvaccinated individuals due to the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases, believed to be caused by the Omicron variant.
