Isabela flood victims camp on highway, seek aid

Residents of Barangay San Mateo in Tumauini, Isabela have been sleeping by the roadside for four nights due to flooding caused by Typhoon Ulysses.

Some residents are using borrowed tents or cartons and tarpaulins while others depend on passing motorists for meals.

The affected families appealed directly to President Duterte and TV host Willie Revillame for assistance, citing a lack of shelter and relief goods.

Residents claim they are not receiving adequate support from the local government and prefer staying near their homes rather than going to evacuation centers.

Tumauini Mayor Arnold Bautista stated that those camping by the highway refused to go to designated shelters.
