Isabela residents appeal for help as floods persist after Ulysses

Residents in Cabagan, Isabela are appealing for government assistance to drain floodwaters that remain calf-deep a week after Typhoon Ulysses.

Some areas in Sto. Tomas may experience flooding for up to a month due to low-lying roads and the overflow of the Cagayan River.

Around 35% of Isabela was submerged during the typhoon, with rescue teams struggling to save stranded residents due to lack of proper equipment.

Vice Governor Faustino Bodjie Dy reported that several towns and barangays in Isabela remain isolated due to flooding, particularly Sto. Tomas which is severely affected.
