UE Red Warriors win Game 2, force decisive Game 3

The UE Junior Red Warriors secured a do-or-die Game 3 in the UAAP junior high school basketball finals with a 76-70 victory over the UST Tiger Cubs on Sunday, December 15.

UE rallied in the fourth quarter to outscore UST 23-14 and extend their series to a deciding contest.

Coach Andrew Estrella praised his team's response, emphasizing their teamwork and adherence to instructions, especially after Andwele Cabanero was ejected early for striking Neil Garcia during a loose ball scuffle.

Mav Mesina led UE with 21 points, while Neil Garcia contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds; UST struggled without Cabanero's contributions as they fell short in the rebounding battle by a significant margin.

The winner-take-all Game 3 will be held on Friday, December 20, where UE aims to end their 39-year title drought while UST seeks their first UAAP high school basketball championship since Season 74 (2001).
