UAAP suspends UE women's volleyball coach Jerry Yee

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) suspended University of the East women's volleyball head coach Jerry Yee for the remainder of Season 86 on Sunday, March 3.

Despite his suspension, Yee is allowed to continue training sessions and coaching in non-UAAP events but will not be able to enter game arenas as set by the suspension parameters.

UE assistant coach Dr. Obet Vital expressed disappointment over the league's decision and noted that UE will file an appeal on Monday, March 4, seeking a temporary suspension of the ruling until a hearing can be held.

In their first game without Yee, UE struggled to find its groove and absorbed a third straight loss in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament against Adamson on Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Vital urged the entire UE community to rally behind Yee, emphasizing that there was no due process in his suspension and calling for fairness in the handling of the case.
