UE women's volleyball adds Japanese coaches

University of the East has bolstered its women's volleyball coaching staff following head coach Jerry Yee's suspension, bringing in assistant coach Shota Sato from Kurashiki Ablaze as head consultant and former player Asaka Tamaru as assistant coach.

Team manager Jared Lao expressed optimism about the new leadership, noting that players are excited for their upcoming matches against National University on March 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Sato previously coached in Japan while Tamaru won awards during her time in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

UE's interim coach Dr. Obet Vital and his coaching staff will continue to support Sato and Tamaru, who arrived in Manila last Thursday to take over team leadership.

The Lady Warriors, currently with a 1-4 record, welcome Sato and Tamaru as they aim to improve their performance under new guidance.
