UAAP, NCAA honor top coaches at June 30 event

The Collegiate Press Corps will honor outstanding coaches from the UAAP Season 87 and NCAA Season 100 basketball and volleyball seasons at an awards night on June 30.

Goldwin Monteverde of UP Fighting Maroons is set to receive the 'UAAP Men's Basketball Coach of the Year' award for leading his team to their second consecutive championship, while Randy Alcantara of Mapua will be recognized as the 'NCAA Men's Basketball Coach of the Year' after guiding the Cardinals to their first title in 33 years.

Aris Dimaunahan from NU Lady Bulldogs and Sherwin Meneses from NU Lady Bulldogs are set to receive 'UAAP Women's Basketball Coach of the Year' and 'UAAP Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year' awards respectively, for leading their teams to recent victories.

Dante Alinsunurin will be honored as the 'UAAP Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year', having led NU men's volleyball team to a historic five-peat in Season 87. Jerry Yee of Benilde Lady Blazers and Bryan Vitug of Arellano Chiefs will receive 'NCAA Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year' and 'NCAA Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year' awards respectively, for their teams' championship runs.
