SMC-CPC Awards: College athletes, incl. football players honored

The finest athletes from Philippine college sports, including football players for the first time, will be honored at the third San Miguel Corp.-Collegiate Press Corps (SMC-CPC) Awards Night on June 30 in Ortigas, Pasig City.

This year's event will recognize achievements from UAAP Season 87 and NCAA Season 100, including Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Year, Volleyball Players of the Year, and a total of 27 awards for exceptional athletes.

Football Players of the Year from both leagues will also be recognized alongside Mythical Teams in both divisions, with CPC president John Bryan Ulanday highlighting the importance of acknowledging football players' contributions to collegiate sports.

Coaches of the Year for basketball and volleyball will receive recognition as well, with guest speakers including UAAP Executive Director Atty. Rego Saguisag, Sports Director Bo Perasol, and NCAA Season 100 host Lyceum of the Philippines University's management committee board chairman Herc Callanta.
