Typhoon Odette kills 14, levels Dinagat Islands

At least 14 people died in Dinagat Islands due to Typhoon Odette on December 20.

The provincial information officer reported that some deaths were medically-related.

Governor Arlene 'Kaka' Bag-ao described the province as being leveled to the ground, with damage reminiscent of or worse than Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

Houses suffered 90% to 95% damage due to heavy rains and strong winds that ravaged communities like a washing machine.

The Philippine Navy shared video footage showing extensive damage in San Jose municipality, including collapsed houses and stripped trees.
