Typhoon Odette damage hits P29-B

The total damage to agriculture and infrastructure caused by Typhoon Odette has reached PHP29 billion.

As of January 13, the agriculture sector suffered PHP11.4 billion in damages across multiple regions including Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Soccsksargen, and Caraga.

Infrastructure damage has reached approximately PHP17.7 billion in the same regions plus the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The agriculture sector alone saw a rise from PHP12.7 billion to PHP11.4 billion due to losses in rice, corn, high-value crops, coconut, sugarcane, abaca, livestock, and fisheries.
