Typhoon Marce affects 374K people, kills 1, damages P50M worth of infrastructure

Typhoon Marce (international name Yinxing) has affected approximately 107,325 families or 374,177 individuals across Regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera Administrative Region as of Monday, November 11.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that one person died due to Typhoon Marce, while another remains missing; all cases are under validation by authorities.

As of the latest update, 46 families or 230 individuals are seeking shelter in evacuation centers, while another 44 families or 198 people are receiving assistance outside these centers.

Typhoon Marce caused damage to infrastructure worth P50.8 million and impacted forty-one road sections and twenty-four bridges, with eleven roads now passable; a total of 29 roads and 11 bridges remain affected and not passable for motorists.

The storm also damaged 26,901 houses partially and totally destroyed 1,136 houses in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), affecting nearly 28,000 homes.
