105 families evacuate due to Typhoon Marce

A total of 105 families, including 257 individuals from Bangar town in La Union and 18 families from San Fabian town in Pangasinan, evacuated their homes on Thursday night due to Typhoon Marce (Yinxing).

The evacuees from Bangar are staying at the town's covered court and have been provided with food packs.

Vincent Chiu of the Pangasinan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said that the families from San Fabian will return home once weather conditions improve.

Both La Union and Pangasinan provinces remain on red alert status, with prepositioned rescuers, vehicles, and equipment ready for any emergencies.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development has prepared relief supplies worth PHP57.9 million, including food packs and non-food items, to assist residents affected by Typhoon Marce in the Ilocos Region.
