Typhoon Basyang leaves PH area of responsibility

Typhoon Basyang intensified but moved out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Tuesday afternoon.

As of 5 p.m., Basyang was located 1,400 kilometers east of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph and gustiness up to 160 kph.

PAGASA stated that Basyang is forecasted to move north-northeastward without directly affecting the country's weather or sea conditions within the forecast period.

Basyang entered PAR at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, receiving its local name from PAGASA as it intensified from a severe tropical storm into a typhoon.

Tropical Depression Agaton remains in the vicinity of Balangiga, Eastern Samar, moving eastward and is inside PAR alongside Basyang.
