Quezon City sends samples of neighbors near UK variant case for sequencing

Quezon City government sent samples from two asymptomatic neighbors, a 36-year-old male and a 44-year-old female, who tested positive for COVID-19 near the UK variant B1.1.7-positive OFW.

Samples are being sequenced to determine if they also have the UK variant; results expected in several days.

City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit is conducting further contact tracing.

All individuals living with the two positive patients underwent swab tests, even without symptoms, and were advised to quarantine for 14 days.
