Manila mayor orders Sampaloc 'hard lockdown'

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno placed Sampaloc district under a 48-hour 'hard lockdown' starting Thursday, April 23 until Saturday, April 25.

The decision came after the Manila Health Department observed an increase in coronavirus cases in Sampaloc.

Residents are strictly confined to their homes and violators will be detained in the district's basketball court for 48 hours.

Exceptions include frontliners, health emergencies, uniformed personnel, government employees, service workers, barangay officials, and accredited media members.
