Tolentino leads NorthPort against Ginebra in PBA semis

Arvin Tolentino will face his former team Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals as he leads NorthPort, a contender he helped build.

Tolentino, who won two championships with Ginebra from 2020 to 2022 and is now a frontrunner for the Best Player of the Conference award, expressed excitement about playing against his former teammates and coaches.

NorthPort advanced to the semifinals for only the third time in its history after defeating Magnolia Hotshots in the quarterfinals.

Tolentino acknowledges his fondness for Ginebra but remains focused on achieving success with NorthPort, where he has established himself as a key player, noting that there are ample preparation opportunities before the series begins on Feb. 26.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone expressed pride in Tolentino's achievements while acknowledging some regret over trading him to NorthPort.
