TNT guard Jayson Castro out for six months with injury

TNT veteran guard Jayson Castro suffered a full-thickness patellar tendon tear during Game 2 of their PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine on Friday, February 28.

Despite holding a 2-0 lead in the series, TNT head coach Chot Reyes emphasized that his team cannot afford to be complacent, noting how close the games have been with margins of just three points each.

Team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed that Castro is out for at least six months due to his injury, ruling him out for the remainder of PBA Season 49.

TNT faces Game 3 on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum as they prepare to continue their quest for another championship without Castro's key contributions, while Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao stressed that the third game is a must-win for them.

The crucial Game 3 will be played on Sunday, 5 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
