TNT edges Rain or Shine 93-91 to lead PBA semifinals 2-0

TNT narrowly won Game 2 against Rain or Shine, 93-91, in their best-of-seven PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup semifinal series on Friday at the PhilSports Arena.

Despite Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scoring 28 points and pulling down 10 rebounds before fouling out, and Jayson Castro adding 13 points but getting injured late in the game, TNT managed to hold off Rain or Shine's comeback attempt.

Calvin Oftana contributed 22 points while Poy Erram added 11 points and eight rebounds, helping TNT maintain their lead throughout the series despite a six-minute scoring drought late in the game.

Rain or Shine’s Deon Thompson led with 22 points and 14 rebounds but could not prevent his team from falling behind after several missed shots in the final seconds.

Coach Yeng Guiao of Rain or Shine, though disappointed about being down two games to none, praised his young squad for their fight and bravery against a championship-caliber team like TNT.

TNT will aim to extend their advantage to 3-0 when they host Game 3 on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
